WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, permanent position located in the Richmond, BC, facility. Layfield is a 12-hour continuous rotating day and overnight shift work environment. As the manufacturing facility is open 24 hours, the Production Worker’s (Technician) shift schedule is non-negotiable (every worker works the same shift schedule), and you are required to work night shifts and every other weekend. Opportunity to work stat holidays at 1.5x premium rate.
The shift schedule is as follows: Day shift (7am to 7pm) Night shift (7pm to 7am). Week 1, Day shift – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2, Day shift – Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
Week 3, Night shift – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 4, Night shift – Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
***Shifts are 12 hours in length, and rotate days and nights every two weeks. There is a shift premium when working rotating shifts. Every two-week rotation completed is 84 hours total, paid at 80 hours regular rate and 4 hours overtime rate.***
Starting wages for Production Worker (Technician) are $20.81 per hour. After successful completion of 3 months, you are eligible for benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions.
- Communicate material requirements during production.
- Ensure the correct and accurate packaging, identification and count of goods produced.
- Monitor equipment for performance. Report deficiencies to the Operators.
- Responsible for the complete and accurate recording of production on the lines using Shop Clock, Ritescan and UniPoint
- Responsible for the proper use and storage of tools and accessories on the lines.
- Assist Operators with changeovers, set ups and adjustments.
- Complete quality checks of goods produced at the line; record and communicate quality issues to Operators and QC staff.
- Responsible for maintaining a well-organized and clean work area that meets PAC Secure requirements. This includes cleaning, sweeping, mopping, assembling, lifting, moving and offering general assistance.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to work shift work (day/evening/night) and weekends (overtime shifts)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or other similar industry an asset
- Must be detail oriented, and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
- Must be safety conscious
- Ability to lift 60 lbs on a regular basis
- Must be dependable (dedicated and committed to work)
