Position Description
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for daily shipping and receiving duties within a team environment with a strong focus on customer service.
Customer service, communication, problem solving and accuracy are key to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Primary
- Supports and adheres to the company’s health and safety policies, programs and procedures
- Maintain material handling equipment and complete pre-use inspections
- Operate forklift (sit down and reach truck) and skid steer safely
- Unload inventory from inbound deliveries and verify counts on receiving documents
- Pick customer orders, verify counts and package for outbound shipment
- Package & label received inventory and picked customer orders as per company standards
- Load customer orders for outbound shipment per BOL and company standards
- Transport materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, indoor and outdoor storage areas and manufacturing area
- Assist other Logistics staff with warehouse/yard tasks as required
- Assist with weekly material and inventory cycle counts
- Daily warehouse and outdoor yard housekeeping
Secondary
- Cross-train in the warehouse office as backup for staff vacations
- Process paperwork for customer orders and print pick lists / BOL’s
- Assist with freight quotes requested by sales staff and customer experience rep’s
Education & Experience
- Forklift Certification & Skid Steer Certification
- 5 years of forklift and skid steer operating experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse & outdoor yard environment
- Valid WHMIS Certificate
- Completion of Grade 12

- Driven, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
- Independent but able to work well within a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Sound knowledge of safety regulations regarding equipment operation and product storage
- High degree of competence in written and oral communication
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
Working Conditions
The Shipper/Receiver role will be scheduled from Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional overtime may be requested. The working conditions are subject to outside weather for approximately half of the work day while operating forklift to load/unload/pick customer orders and put away inventory.
