Overview
Layfield’s experts are ready to manufacture the ideal film for the preparation, storage, and transport of your cell structures and pharmaceutical components. We support the industry by delivering film that promotes outstanding cell density and high product purity.
These films can be used for a variety of applications such as blood products, vaccines, and biopharmaceuticals. The material used ensures that the bag remains flexible when plasma is in a frozen state.
Our high-quality films allow for the replication, continuous growth, and viability of your sensitive cell structures. We will help you achieve your targets with materials that promote outstanding cell density and reduce the risk of inconsistencies.
Compliance with USP Class 1 & ISO 10993
Our films are in strict accordance with and approved for pharmaceutical use within American and European standards.
Highly Flexible
Layfield bioreactor films are made from a material that remains highly flexible at all times, even at temperatures below zero.
Patient Compatibility
For preferential patient compatibility, Layfield has developed a high frequency welded EVA twist-off port. This feature works to eliminate the adhesive connection between the film, tube, and port — and is in absolute compliance with ISO.
Additional Features
- Supports a range of volume capacities from 50 ml to 3000ml
- Features a label area with a side seal pocket for clear specimen identification
- Unitary individual packaging available upon request
- Promotes cell density, reducing the risk of inconsistencies

Packaging Formats
At Layfield, our main objective is to protect both – people and the environment. With our high-quality medical films and packaging tools, we can help you reproduce and grow sensitive cells, while supporting the high productivity and stability you need to achieve your targets.
This film is fully customizable and can be modified into the exact shape and size you require — even packaging multiple products at the same time! It also provides storage convenience for consumers compared to bulky cans and cartons.
Our superior gravure printing technology delivers roll stock film quickly and efficiently. This material also takes less energy to produce, resulting in less waste than traditional printing methods.
Why choose a roll stock?
- Can be made into any shaped pouch or bag, or folded to fit your needs
- Offers superior product protection and tensile strength
- Requires less floor space for inventory storage
Transparent infusion bags, often referred to as IV bags among medical professionals, are widely used for the primary packaging of pharmaceuticals. Customers tend to prefer materials and features that provide additional clarity, softness, and excellent impact resistance.
Why choose a transparent infusion bag?
- Features practical and sturdy carrying handles for ease of transport
- Port for safe medication injection through synthetic septum cap
- Bag spike adapter provides a secure connection to infusion set
Sustainability
The ability for manufacturers to constantly provide more sustainable packaging options that meet the specific needs of medical devices is extremely challenging. At Layfield, we take this challenge seriously as we continuously develop films that meet our sustainability initiatives and help our customers with easier end of life recycling options.
How2Recycle ® is a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates package recycling options.
Layfield offers a diverse portfolio of recyclable packaging options, however, through our How2Recycle ® membership, we’ve made recycling easier for your customers with the use of the store drop-off program, across North America. Get our prequalified store drop-off recyclable packaging for your pet products and give your brand a sustainable, competitive edge.

PCR material is made from recycled plastic, which is then processed into resin that can be used to make new packaging. This gives the packaging a second life and reduces plastic waste.
Join us on our sustainable journey and help reduce your environmental footprint with our PCR plastic and sustainable innovations.
Benefits?
- Less wasteful than new plastic
- Reduces waste production
- Same characteristics as regular plastics.
Technologies
Polyethylene (PE):
Serve as the contact layer for the packaging content and is critical in the bag’s ability to be sealed.
Polyamide/Nylon (PA):
A fantastic choice for packaging that demands high puncture resistance, toughness, and mechanical strength.
EVOH Barrier:
A plastic barrier material that excels in protecting volatile products from oxygen and a variety of other gasses.
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA):
This resin is usually combined with others to provide exceptional elasticity. It is very soft and stretchy, and can be processed to form a plastic that is extremely tough.
Polypropylene (PP):
A high-clarity film offering consumers a glimpse of the product before purchase. PP also features barriers which protect against moisture and vapor.
Super Puncture & Tear Resistance:
The new materials used in the production of forming films ensure reliable, high-performance puncture and tear resistance.
UV Stabilized:
Layfield films are manufactured and layered with additives for UV protection, and safeguard contents even in the presence of high radiation and chemicals.
Chamber Separation:
Each bag is equipped with 3 easy-to-open chambers with a lock adapter for simple and safe filling. Each is separated to eliminate the risk of mix-ups or leakage.
- 100% PVC- and latex-free
- Provides protection for light-sensitive solutions including vitamins, lipids, and oncology medications.
- Toxicologically harmless material that is safe for medical-grade products
- Transparent film allows for visual assessment of medical solutions
- Effective UV protection between 89-99% of the relevant wavelength range
- Practical and sturdy carrying handles
- Lock adapter for easy filling and infusing
- Bag spike adapter ensures secure connection to infusion set

Rotogravure Printing:
High-definition rotogravure printing provides endless possibilities. You can utilize this technology to create captivating graphics and bring your designs to life. This printing technology is a great way to showcase the quality of your products.
Digital Printing:
Digital printing is the process of directly transferring a digital file to a printer, where it’s used on packaging materials. The digital files are converted to ensure a more accurate color output from screen to print. Unlike our other printing technologies, digital printing does not require any manual setup.
Flexographic Printing:
This technique utilizes a flexible printing plate to print images with a high line count. Unique among printing technology, it adapts extremely well to various materials and can use a wide range of inks (e.g. water-based inks and UV colors). Due to its high adaptability, it can be printed on almost any kind of substrate (e.g. plastic, metal, and paper).
